چکیده

A novel, simple p-dimethyl amino benzyl ethylene diamine reagent has been synthesized under ordinary laboratory conditions and this reagent was successfully applied for the determination of Chromium (VI) in various environmental samples. This reagent yields a red colored complex with chromium metal solution in sodium acetate-acetic acid buffer of pH 7.0. Maximum absorption was obtained at 560 nm and is stable for six hours. Conditions such as pH, reagent concentration, choice of the solvent, foreign ions effects were studied. The results obtained are compared with the results obtained by using standard reagent. This method is successfully applied for the determination of chromium in various environmental samples.

Design and Evaluation of a Mercury (II) Optode Based on Immobilization of 5, 6 Di methyl -1- (4 methyl benzyl) -2- para tolyl-1H-benzimidazole (DMBPTBI) on a Triacetylcellulose Membrane and Determination in Various Samples

The characterization of an optical sensor membrane is described for the determination of Hg2+ ions based on the immobilization of 5, 6 Di methyl -1- ( 4 methyl benzyl) -2- para tolyl-1H-benzimidazole (DMBPTBI) on a triacetylcellulose membrane. The membrane responds to mercury ions by changing color reversibly from orange to red in universal buffer solution at pH 2. Under optimum conditions, the...

Effect of ethylene diamine tetra acetic acid chelator in the presence of chromium on growth and some physiological characteristics of sunflower.

Chromium is a heavy metal toxic for plants that due extensive industrial applications over the last decade, has become a serious environmental pollution. On the other hand, chelator dissolution and absorption of metal by the plant increase and their use in phytoremediation is important. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of different concentrations of chromium and ethylene diamine...

Spectrophotometric method for determination of vanadium and its application to environmental and biological samples

The very sensitive, fairly selective direct spectrophotometric method for the determination of trace amount of vanadium (V) with naphthalene -1, 5 -diamine has been developed. Naphthalene -1, 5 -diamine reacts in slightly acidic (0.0001– 0.001 M H2SO4 or pH 4.0–5.5) alcohol media with vanadium (V) to give a red–violet chelate which has an absorption maximum at 531 nm. The stoichiometric composi...

Preconcentration and Determination of Chromium (III) from Sea Water Samples Using Ion Imprinted Activated Carbon

A simple ion imprinted amino-functionalized sorbent was synthesized by coupling activated carbon with iminodiacetic acid, a functional compound for metal chelating, through cyanoric chloride spacer. The resulting sorbent has been characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), elemental analysis, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and evaluated for the preconcentration and de...
